CEFC at CMTI for Modernization of Precision Metrology Laboratory

CMTI aimed to develop the CEFC under MHI CG Scheme to build technological capability for analyzing various units of precision metrology, undertake development of precision metrology for production, manufacturing and automation solutions and develop human resources by providing training. The new state of art facility includes several dimensional and form-measuring equipment, with accuracies to sub micrometer/ nanometer level for ensuring ultra-precise results repeatedly.

Facilities created: Precision Metrology Laboratory consists of following labs 1. High Precision Roundness Tester 2. High Precision Autocollimator 3. Surface Roughness & Contour Tester 4. Video Measuring Machine 5. Portable Arm CMM 6. Ultra Precision Coordinate Measuring Machine Achievements of the Project 1. The equipment/facilities procured under this project are providing calibration/ inspection services indigenously to Large and MSME sectors. 2. Presently the lab is providing its services to 220 industries (non-repetitive) per annum and around 900 - 1000 instances of services. 3. The current utilization of equipment /facilities procured under this project is 60- 70%. 4. The laboratory is earning revenue of around Rs. 130 Lakhs per annum by providing services to clients. 5. The laboratory is providing training to SMEs in the area of Precision Measurements, Calibration, Quality Management Systems, etc to the order of 100 -150 personnel per annum.
