Establishment Of Industry Accelerator by CMTI

An Industry Accelerator has been established at CMTI, under Phase2 of the Scheme for enhancement of the Capital goods sector, of the Ministry of Heavy Industries, Govt. of India. This Industry Accelerator is focusing on 16 advanced Technology and Product Developmental Projects TRL 7 to TRL8, under two cohorts namely “Machines & Automation” and “Aggregates for capital goods equipment”, in collaboration with Industry 13 Industry Partners. The Industry Accelerator is working to bridge the technological gaps in the country as identified in the National Capital Goods Policy. It is targeted that CMTI will commercialize at least 16 new indigenous products/technologies at the end of the development period.

Brief

The Products/Technologies, selected for development, with their unique features are given below 1. Development of Laser-Based Directed Energy Deposition Additive Manufacturing Machine: It is a 5-axis Metal Additive Manufacturing system, using indigenously developed laser system, which enables development and manufacturing of quality components for the aerospace and defence industries. 2. Smart Heat Treatment Technologies Industry 4.0: An IIoT enabled heat treatment system, which can convert the conventional furnace into a smart furnace for ensuring high quality heat treatment process for mechanical components used in all manufacturing industries. 3. Design, Development & Testing of an AI-Enabled Automated Weld defect detection System for Weld Joints: An artificial intelligence based automated weld defect detection system for identification, diagnosis of defects in the welded joints and ensure high quality fabrication works in general engineering, automotive, defence, ship building and aerospace industries 4. Development of an Automated Optical Inspection System for PCBs: An automated Optical 2D and 3D Inspection System for identification of defects and assuring quality in mass manufacturing of PCBs, used in electronic equipment manufacturing industries 5. Development of a Portable Surface Roughness Testing Machine: A compact and portable surface roughness testing equipment for both shop floor and laboratory use, for evaluation of surface roughness of engineering components, produced by all subtractive and additive manufacturing processes 6. Design & Development of BLDC Coil Winding Machines with the Total Bench and Automation for Manufacturing: IIoT enabled automatic coil winding machines and associated equipment’s for pre and post process automation, for production of BLDC motors for applications such as drones for agriculture, smart monitoring of civic amenities and defence applications and drive motors for robots 7. Design & Development of Signal Capturing & Signature Analysis Device: An Industry 4.0 compatible Multi Signal Capturing & Signature Analysis Device, which uses Machine learning and AI, for diagnosis and predictive analysis of machines/equipments used in capital good industry. 8. Design & Development of Industrial Leak Test Panel: An Industry 4.0 compatible Industrial Leak Testing Device, used to measure the spillage of liquids or gases from enclosed systems in automotive, railway, aerospace, medical and pharma industries. 9. Development of Universal Machine to Cloud Connecting Edge Device: A universal machine to cloud connecting edge device that gives direct cloud connectivity to any capital good machine or PLC used for Factory Automation & smart manufacturing shop floors 10. Development of Digital Twin (DT) Assisted Smart Cutting Tool Holder: An innovative multi-sensor integrated smart tool holder and its digital twin, which is capable of measuring and analyzing triaxial cutting force, torque, and cutting vibration simultaneously and wirelessly in milling operations useful for all Machine tool OEM’s & Metal cutting Manufacturing Industries 11. Development of a Porous Graphite based Air-bearing spindle for Machine Tools & Metrology Applications: A high precision air bearing spindle using porous graphite as restrictor material, which in turn will be used for indigenous manufacturing of affordable ultra-precision machines and metrology equipments 12. Design & Development of Ballscrews for Precision Machine Tools: Precision class ball screws and ball nuts, which are most commonly used by machine tool OEMs in our country. 13 Design & Development of LM Guide ways for Precision Machine Tools: Precision class LM guideways, which are most commonly used by machine tool OEMs in our country 14. Development of Technology for Laser Polishing Of 3D Outer Surfaces of Components:Laser polishing using indigenously developed laser system of components produced in metal cutting and metal additive manufacturing industries 15. Design & Development of Servo Actuators/ Controller for Press and Nut runner Application: Servo actuators and controller for development of servo electric presses and nut runners in our country. 16. Design & Development of Injection Unit for Low-Temperature Wax Injection moulding: It is a modular low temperature wax injection unit, which can be integrated with any wax injection moulding machine, made in India.
