Brief

This technology uses 3D pattern printing and inert ceramic shelling technologies for high dimensional accuracy and manufacture of near-net-shape parts from M/s Casting Technology International, UK. Further, special techniques are used for vacuum melting and pouring of titanium in a controlled environment has been imported from M/s ALD Vacuum Technologies GmbH, Germany. A vital process in production is the Hot Isostatic Pressing (HIP), a technology obtained from M/s American Isostatic Presses Inc. USA for making castings for greater integrity and mechanical strength which is essential in titanium parts. Till now the country was dependent on import of Titanium castings, which many times are not freely accessible. The successful indigenization of this technology has provided a steady and economical availability of titanium parts to the Indian capital goods manufacturers to produce critical titanium parts for meeting the domestic use as well as for exports.
